Beaufort,Belhaven & Coinjock, North Carolina

This is a pontoon bridge that opens on the hour only. We had to time our trip today because we had 4 bridges that opened either on the hour or on the half hour.

We have had to decide in the mornings these few days whether or not to leave for the next place due to the weather. We have left between 6:00 and 7:00 to be at our destination before the winds get too strong in the afternoon.


The marina we stayed at in Belhaven was in the country so they let us use their car to go into town to get supplies. We made 2 stops: Ace hardware and the grocery store. It was the only grocery store within 30 miles.

I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my sister Kay, and 2 friends, Bob Wittenberg and Chris Anderson.

We are off to Norfolk, VA tomorrow and we have to go through our first lock!
