Grafton/Alton, Illinois

Diane and Ivar's week with us ended on Saturday, November 1st. When you are just a "young-un" like Ivar, he has to go back to work! Ivar got pretty good at understanding the barge pilot's lingo and talking back to them.

Bob's sister Reenie and her son Mark joined us at the boat on Saturday. Mark took Diane and Ivar to the airport in St.Louis. Reenie stayed with us and traveled 2 days with us. Reenie and I did some shopping in Grafton. The city was so busy with people looking at the colors and with 70 degree weather the cars were lined up from one end of town to the next.

Sunday, Nov. 2nd Bob, Reenie and I went only 12 miles to Alton Marina. It was about 70 degrees again and the scenery was great!

Reenie and I walked around town and over to the casino while Bob rested! The casino was the closest place for supper so we got a ride over there. It was a riverboat with 3 levels and once inside it was like all casinos.

This is the view from our boat of the bridge in Alton.
